We want to make sure you feel supported

While Creative Taranaki is still in its founding year- there are still ways we can help connect you with people, places and the things you Need

Funding

While we work on securing local and national funding for our region, there are ways Creative Taranaki can help you access funding for your project or organisation from external funding bodies.

We want to provide a central platform where artists of all disciplines can find out about both regional and national funding opportunities.

Advocacy

A key role of the Creative Taranaki Trust is to advocate for the Arts and Culture sector in Taranaki. We will lobby for an overarching arts strategy to guide all future policy and decision-making.

As part of monthly hui, in conjunction with other Regional Arts Organisations , we will be working on a national arts strategy to further the prospects and prosperity of Aotearoa’s arts and culture sector both at home and abroad.

Promotion

Want to know what’s going on around the mounga? Check out Creative Taranaki’s gig guide, updated fortnightly with information provided by our community.

This runs alongside our social channels, where we promote, share and update you on the magic that is happening in Taranaki’s arts and culture scene.

You can also access The Coastal Arts Trail website to find out more about our stellar galleries, public sculptures and street art.

Connection

Creative Taranaki will aim to host a variety of events around the mounga to connect our artistic communities, foster collaboration, and share insights.

Over time, Creative Taranaki aims to create a database and artists’ directory where you can find other artists, seek advice on specific skill sets, and meet up with like-minded folk.

capability building workshops

Being an artist isn’t always as glorious as it looks from the outside. There’s a lot of business advice that doesn’t cater to the arts sectors’ needs.

Creative Taranaki will host capability building workshops with a unique lens on meeting the needs of the creative sector. Topics include:

  • Digital marketing

  • Business, finance, tax

  • Cultural awareness

  • Commercial language

  • Relationship building

  • And many more to come!

We are keen to hear from practitioners of all stripes what the pressing needs are. Contact us here if you have an idea.
