Arts For All Taranaki Network Hui

Arts For All Network regional hui are an annual opportunity for local artists, arts workers and arts lovers to get together to connect and share goals, plans and ideas about increasing access in the arts to Deaf and disabled people. The disabled-led hui is hosted by Katie Querin, Whakahohe a Toi Ōritetanga | Arts For All Activator for Arts Access Aotearoa. Who is the hui for?
Anyone working in, curious or passionate about accessibility and inclusion in the arts, including organisations, Deaf and disabled people and non-disabled people. You don't have to be an Arts For All Network member- all are welcome.

9:40am: The meeting room is open for mingling, tea and coffee, and settling in
10:00am: We begin with an opening karakia and introductions around the room
10:20am: Katie shares a presentation about the Arts For All Network and updates on the state of arts accessibility in Aotearoa
10:40am: Arts For All Taranaki Network members present short talks about their arts accessibility mahi, followed by question and answer time
11:10am: Break for tea, biscuits and networking
11:30am: More presentations from Arts For All Taranaki Network members with question and answer time
11:50am: Open discussion
12:20pm: Final remarks from Katie
12:30pm: Closing karakia

What is the hui like?
Join a relaxed, welcoming session for people with extensive lived experience or people completely new to arts accessibility, and everyone in between. Connect with individuals and organisations all working to make the arts more accessible to Deaf and disabled people. With plenty of time for learning, sharing, and networking, it's a great opportunity to share your mahi, advocate to decision makers, and brainstorm how we can remove barriers in both small and big ways.

Accessibility
The hui space is wheelchair accessible and has accessible toilets, and the presentation will be audio described. Attendees are welcome to bring fidget toys, comfort items, and whatever they need to be comfortable. Service dogs are welcome. If you are bringing a support person, please let me know when you register.
NZSL interpreters may be available for the hui- if you require an NZSL interpreter, please let me know ASAP so I can book them.

Tea and biscuits are provided, and there's no cost to attend the hui. Please share this invite with anyone who you think may like to come.
