Marie Hermo Jensen is a Norwegian–New Zealand dance artist, producer and creative leader based in Taranaki, with strong ties to Northern Norway.

Her career spans more than three decades across contemporary dance, performance, choreography, film, producing and arts development. Marie’s work is grounded in movement and storytelling, with a particular interest in identity, lived experience, place and the ways personal stories can be transformed through performance and visual media.

Alongside her own artistic practice, Marie has extensive experience creating platforms for other artists. She is a leader and producer with DanseFestival Barents and Stellaris DansTeater in Hammerfest, Norway, and is also involved with Creative Taranaki, supporting the development and visibility of the creative sector in the region.

Whether developing a performance, producing a festival, mentoring a project or connecting people across creative communities, Marie is interested in creating work and structures that allow artists, ideas and audiences to meet.
