I have performed as a solo artist and in several New Plymouth bands since the 1980s. Bands include: Whispering Din (1990-93), Uncle John's Band (1990-2008), Blue Monkey Racket (2014-20), OK Boomers (2020-24).
In 2022 I released my eighth solo album, The Orchid Thief, backed by strings and woodwinds. My new album, Zero Sum, is coming out in October 2026, mostly performed alone, though the odd guest also appears. The strings and woodwinds feature on one track.
I host a weekly radio show, "What's It All About, Andy?" on The Most FM (100.4FM, 107.4FM in Ōakura, and streaming at mostfm.com) every Sunday at 5pm
I also write a regular humour column for Live Magazine.
